Households (or families)
serve two purposes in Advent: to group members into family units and to
track financial information. Each member must be assigned to a household,
and households can have any number of people. Financial pledges and transactions
are assigned to households. Notice the physical address is stored here, in the main Households tracking screen. Also note the three organizational fields (Parish Cell, Neighborhood, and an unused one) and the user defined fields; these are provided for organizational and reporting flexibility. At the bottom of the screen, note the tabs that contain a list of members assigned to the household, envelope and account number information, and financial contribution history. These tabs provide direct access to information associated with the selected household, such as in the members tab shown. In the Envelopes/Accounts tab you define and maintain the envelope numbers that are assigned to the family. Note that you can use not only envelope numbers here but any number associated with the household, such as a phone number or bank account number. This list, though you can maintain it here, is also maintained automatically as deposits are entered. Finally, the Financial Contribution History tab provides an at-a-glance view of the household's gifting to financial campaigns. |
